Patrick Rodgers: LEAD DESIGNER, PROJECT MANAGER, DEVELOPER
How do you contribute to Powerserve’s awesomeness? Lead designer, project manager, and developer for our largest client. I guide the project design team and act as a link between management and the designers. I task out, estimate, and create deadlines and see that they are met.
I (Chelsea) have been using a stand-up desk for the past few weeks, and I find myself jamming (ahem *dancing*) while I work. I decided to ask our office what music helps them work best; I didn’t alter their answers, below I’ve quoted them directly. Pretty amazing, how everyone is different.

Since we work with the world wide web every single day, we come across a lot of websites and resources. Some good, some not so good. I figured there was no doubt that each person in our office has a favorite website. One they surf everyday, one they tell people about, one they enjoy. So I asked our people what they were, and these are the answers I received. Enjoy checking them out! Let us know what you think, maybe you’ll discover a new favorite. 🙂
No-Shave November, an annual tradition to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer, along with other male cancers, has grown to be quite the challenge. The tradition goes that guys grow out lumberjack-like beards throughout the month, the goal being: grow awareness by embracing your hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free.
“Powerserve is a company that refuses to see business as merely a competition.”
Our company, like all businesses, affects many lives and our success should be judged by the impact we have on those lives. Our employees, customers, suppliers, and investors are real people with families, hopes and dreams that have made an important decision to enter into relationship with Powerserve. It is those relationships that we value the most and our mission is to find creative ways to make those relationships more fruitful and those lives more rewarding.
At our small, fast-moving company, everyone does a couple of jobs — and productivity apps help us manage roles that shift between coding, writing/designing and running . I asked the Powerserve staff what apps they can’t live without. And beyond the classics—Instagram, Google Maps, Spotify —we found some great apps that might help you too.
This industry, design and computer/internet technology, is constantly evolving and changing. Trends and skill-sharing, learning new tools and tricks to make your work more productive. I personally have learned this lesson thoroughly since I started here at Powerserve. Going to college for design, you learn all the fundamental basics. I’m working in a place that’s web-focused, combined with strategic thinking, and that’s different for me. I’m constantly learning, and it’s fantastic. My attitude soon aimed to be teachable, to be patient with myself, and understand that there is always a chance to learn something.
