Don Harris: CUSTOMER SUPPORT
What is your role at Powerserve? I am Powerserve’s Customer Support Jedi. I take care of most of our customer support issues, software training, domain management, and email administration, as well as managing our SSL Certificates and doing updates to customer websites. I also do a bit of graphic design and layout, although our newer designers are all better than I am at it. If I was the only designer all of our stuff would probably look like it was designed in the ’90s.
If you could have any animal for a pet, what would it be? We have two cats, so I’ll go with that. I’ve had dogs before, but I read somewhere that dogs tend to reflect the intelligence of their owners, and all my dogs were pretty stupid.
How did you end up in Augusta, GA? My dad was in the Army, so we moved here when he transferred to Fort Gordon in 1963. I grew up here (chronologically, at least), then moved to Florida in 1973 after graduating from high school. I took early retirement and moved back to Augusta in 1999 to start my second career. Been here ever since.
If someone gave you a $500 gift card to the store/restaurant of your choice, what would you choose? Probably LongHorn Steakhouse. I love a good steak and theirs are consistently satisfying.
How long have you been part of the Powerserve team? I started in November of 2003, so almost 13 years. There were only four people here when I started and we’ve grown to over two dozen employees. <tongue in cheek>According to The Dilbert Principle, I can take complete credit for our company’s incredible growth. </tongue in cheek>
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose? Playing any and every musical instrument without actually having to learn or practice it. That would be… ummm… Super!
What is your favorite dessert? Sirloin Steak. Did I mention I love a good steak?
What do you like most about your job? I like the variety of things I get to do and helping customers fix problems they’re having. I’m awesome that way.
Don rocks. Powerserve wouldn’t be the same without him.
